How to Shape Eye Brows

It tends to be pretty obvious when women have the wrong eyebrow shape.
There are classically over arched eyebrows, over plucked eyebrows and shapeless eyebrows. There are overly slanted eyebrows, slightly shaggy eyebrows and eternally surprised eyebrows. At times, it can seem that the perfectly shaped eyebrow is an elusive, if not mythical ideal that regular women are unable to reach.

However, finding your own ideal eyebrow shape is easier than you think. All you need is a mirror, a regular pencil, a set of tweezers and eyebrow scissors. The premise to finding your ideal shape is simple: look at your face and the proportions of it will help guide you to perfection.

Many people have beautifully shaped eyebrows naturally that just need to be defined instead of alteration.

Balance to the eyebrows is very important. You want to make sure that they're not uneven. From where it starts to where it ends, the line of the eyebrow should be horizontal. If you line up a pencil at the beginning and the end of the brow lines up too high, you know you've tweezed too much.

If you find yourself breaking out after tweezing your eyebrows, keep it sanitized. Use witch hazel on a cotton ball before and after you tweezes to avoid those little red bumps.]

To determine where your eyebrow ends, hold the makeup brush and tilt it from the nose diagonally until the point meets the outside corner of the eye, this is where your brow should end. It should never end below this otherwise the eyes will drag.

Calculate the arch of the eyebrows by using the ruler. It should start from the side of your nose to the same line on the outer corner of the eye. The high point should be on the outer side of the pupil.

Groom the eyebrows using a clear eyebrow gel and an eyebrow brush. Comb them and pluck stray hairs above the brow line.

The outer edge of your ideally shaped eyebrow is in a line with your nostril and the outer edge of your eye. Use the pencil to line up the edge of the nostril, the outside of the eye and tweeze any hairs on the outside of the intersection between the pencil and the eyebrow.

To find the arch in your eyebrow, position your eyebrow pencil until it aligns with the outer edge of your eye’s iris (the colored part of your eye). The highest point of your eyebrow's arch should be where the pencil’s point meets your eyebrow.

Get lush lashes without mascara: Rub a little petroleum jelly onto lashes to darken and define them. This works best on lashes that have a natural curl.

Pump up sparse lashes by dotting eyeliner pencil between them; use a shade that matches your lashes.

First take out any stray hairs in the middle bit above your nose. It will help you get used to the feeling of plucking the hair because it is usually less sensitive here than above the eyes.

The inside edge of your eyebrow should align with the inner corner of your eye.The arch of your eyebrow should follow the curve of your upper eyeline.

The eyebrow should follow the length of the eye but it shouldn't extend into the temple area. The basic rule is that the front part of the brow should never drop below the back part of the brow. Allowing this to happen, either with the way you tweeze your eyebrows or the way you draw them on, makes you look like you’re frowning and overemphasizes the downward movement of the back part of the eye.
